Final Fun in Leaf Land!

by smoke2much <smoke2much@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Apr 3, 2008 at 06:14 PM

Naturally, our friends over in Leafs Nation will be foaming at the mouth
with glee at the prospect of contributing to the Sens demise tonight.
And frankly, who can blame them. If the shoe was on the other foot, I'm
sure we'd all be salivating at the prospect of knocking them off too.
Admittedly, I don't hate the Leafs, nor any other Canadian team for that
matter. I prefer to reserve my disdain for a team that truly deserves
it, like the Anaheim Ducks. However I do find that there isn't much in
hockey that's more satisfying than beating the Leafs in their own barn.
For some reason, it just feels so good. I absolutely love it when they
enthusiastically boo Alfie, and then he scores. Or when the pizza line
turns their D inside out. These are moments to be savoured during our
journey into the playoffs. That's why I'm going to spring for the PPV
game tonight. I'm sure the atmosphere will be electric and the crowd
will be loud. And when the final buzzer sounds and the Leafs trickle off
the ice with their heads hung low, I'm going to take a long satisfying
drag on a smoke, and smile. Life has some wonderful moments, and the
Sens victory tonight in Toronto will surely be one of them.
