Versus is not on my cable so I don't get to see many non-Shark
games and I have an emotional investment in the Sharks I don't feel
for other teams. Watching Detroit and Pittsburg the last couple
evenings they are so much better they make the Sharks look like a
minor league team. The Wings and Penguin are much quicker, move the
puck way better and move the puck with a purpose. Puck carriers seem
to find seams to skate in while the other players seem to find open
spaces where they can receive a pass and shoot.
All too often the Sharks dump the puck in the corner or take it
behind the net and screw around with it until they lose it. Needless
to add both Pittsburg and Detroit get players to the front of the net.
In their own end when they get control its one pass and the play is
going the other way. I'm sure both teams could get slowed down and
frustrated, but right now they look way superior to San Jose.
